Enjoyed an authentic Japanese Sukiyaki with Wagyu beef at this restaurant. Food quality and presentation is very good. The vegetable tempura was really tasty. The Sukiyaki taste is as good as being in Japan. For dessert I recommend the mochi ice cream. Chef Saito and the staff are very friendly .

Went here for dinner with my husband, really amazing food and very kind staff. The food came really quickly and everyone was really nice. I enjoyed everything. I had been unwell for a while and had no appetite, but it suddenly came back when we came to this restaurant. >< The Japanese mochi ice with fruit is so wonderful, I really recommend here, don't forget to make a reservation first ^^

This place is lovely. It's a traditional date spot for my wife and me. The food is delicious and the staff is very friendly.Two tiny points of constructive criticism:- The staff seemed somewhat inhibited by the low hanging lamps. Might be helpful to raise those a bit.- The music was a bit too present". Maybe something that tends to fade a bit more into the background instead of recent hits might improve the atmosphere.Everything else was perfect!"

Visited twice in a week because the meat quality was amazing and there was a reasonable number options from the menu. From a la carte, we highly recommend sushi (wagyu urchin, wagyu truffle), roll (eel and foie gras, wagyu), and chicken karage. They are amazing. The sukiyaki was really authentic, just like everything else, a tip is to order an egg and dip the meat in it before eating.If you still have space left, matcha ice cream is a must try. It’s slightly more creamy than usual and not very sweet. Very fresh.You can’t go wrong with the menu even if you order blindly.

Fantastic service and great quality food! I went there with a bunch of my Japanese friends and we all loved the dishes that we had. Foie gras sushi was delicious with teriyaki sauce. Despite the thick meat, the beef tongue was very tender. It is also fun to grill our own yakiniku at the table to bring us closer to each other! It reminds me of Japan. Highly recommend!

The service is sooooo bad, most of the staff looks like they are sleep-walking with some smile, but the manger-looking gold hair lady acts like she is one of the house wife of Beverly hills and does not belong here. My friend spilled the drinks and wanna take some tissue, she angrily stop her by guarding the tissue roll. Another tip is don’t use the cloth on your face, I want new cloth and she told me to just leave the dirty ones on the floor:) And 40 pounds service fees for this kind of manner.The table is sticky. They charge 10 pounds for icing our birthday cake. Took 40 mins for the ingredients of sukiyaki to arrive. Maybe they just grew the veggies in the backyard? No clue. 5 people only one pot on a big table, can’t even see my food. Everything is self-help, both the bbq and sukiyaki.Overall the foods themselves are nice, there are not many sukiyaki places in London, but I would still choose Japanese supermarket over this next time.

Such a shame ! Super disappointed with the beef, a japanese restaurant ran out of japanese wagyu beef and I have to order BRITISH beef instead.Menu has changed as well and now also serving british beef which taste like pork, no taste of beef at all.Quality has definitely reduced and not worth the price.Also, we smell something great that was served to table next to us. We asked for that dish and the waiter said was wagyu dumpling, BUT it wasn’t and taste very ordinary, I think I make better dumplings that thoseTable was sticky as well, no tissue was given. Service was just alright,Don’t think will ever go back there again.

For a Japanese restaurant to focus so much on decor and so little on the food is extremely surprising and disappointing. It does not align with Japanese thinking or Japanese ethos.I went here a few nights ago to be quite disappointed by a restaurant charging upper high-end prices for what can only be classed as mediocre low-end food.There was little effort given to the taste and only a pitiful attempt at making the food 'look' presentable. This is clearly not run by a professional kitchen team, let alone a Japanese kitchen team. The waiters did a good job however, so I will award 2 stars only for this reason, however the food is quite possibly amongst the worst Japanese that I have tried.I would strongly discourage anyone from eating here, it is an absolute rip-off for the quality of meal you will receive. For the same price you can enjoy a better meal at Zuma in Knightsbridge, here you will see what dedication and passion goes into quality Japanese food and thinking.Tokyo Sukiyaki Tei has no flavour, the atmosphere is deathly, with bizarre twists on classic London (bowler hat lights, etc.), mixed in with some tradition for Japan. I really don't think a true Japanese person was behind this.I won't be back any time soon.
