We have been delighted with the service we have received from David at Holtham and Newman. Ours was a tricky build with various constraints and David navigated these effortlessly with knowledge, and determination . The attention to detail and client service were second to none.

We have had the pleasure of working with David who was suggested to me by a friend of my dad's, and I must say, the entire process has been very good. Their expertise has shone through from the beginning, and I couldn't be happier with the service we have got.Right from our initial consultation, it was evident that David had a great understanding of his craft with years of experience. He took the time to listen to our ideas and needs, and then seamlessly translated them into beautifully designed drawings.Throughout the entire project, communication was seamless. Regular updates, I would always get emails back the same day and a willingness to collaborate made the entire process smooth and stress-free.We are now waiting to start the build and have gone with some recommended builders and are waiting for final quotes. We found Holtham and Newman through a local community request, we spoke to a number of companies before selecting David and his team.We have previously completed a build and had clear expectations on our needs from an architect. From the our initial consultation we have been very impressed with the professional and approachable service we have received from David. We have moved at a really good pace, clear upfront proposal and a dynamic approach to solving our needs for our home. The regular updates, capturing all of the details and being proud to show us exciting ideas and developments to the design.David took our life in to the process and helped by arranging meetings around our hectic schedules, this has been a a huge win. Small effort, but a major personal touch!We have been listened too and challenged with new ideas which was on our request list. Lucy was instrumental in realising the complete redevelopment of our house. Her partnership was great throughout and she continued to offer advice and identify opportunities for the duration of the journey. She has a good rapport with both client and builder, and that made the process much slicker, especially when we changed decisions on some relatively material aspects of the build after it had started. The design phase, the tendering process, the contract negotiation, and the project management were all well documented and professional. We would definitely engage H&N's services again, although we'll enjoy our lovely new home for a while first.

We bought a chalet bungalow and contemplated designing the alterations ourselves as we had completed three previous flat design renovations and we felt confident we could be creative enough to complete a credible design transformation. It is now self-evident that our decision to bring in David Holtham was absolutely the right thing to do and led to the project more than delivering on our aims. The main concern we had with the transformation was that we wanted to add a bathroom and an ensuite to the first floor, as there was neither a bathroom or a toilet there in the original property. We felt that we may be asking too much considering we also wanted to retain three good size double bedrooms. David was able to remodel the interior removing the existing staircase and repositioning it internally, which led to increased space at the ground floor level and made the use of the space upstairs much more practical. Furthermore upstairs he carried our idea of a vaulted ceiling throughout the first floor which helped to open up the space. He also created a large, full width, open space to the rear ground floor where floor to ceiling sliding doors would lead to the rear garden. This combined kitchen, dining and family room is the new highly desirable family hub where we imagine we will spend most of our time together. Throughout the project David came with a lot of thoughts and ideas that were very helpful in working through to a final design. Overall the finished project has far exceeded our expectations and most surprisingly we not only have all of the bedrooms, bathrooms and ensuite we originally desired but we have a home that has a lot more spoce than we had imagined. Our fear that the property would appear cramped and overdeveloped never turned to reality. We were also fortunate that Holtham-Newman Architects were able to introduce us to a builder to help with the renovation who turned out to be very helpful and delivered on all of his promises We would highly recommend David and Hoitham•Newman Architects, it was an absolute pleasure working with them

We are now at the stage where we are waiting to start our build. Quotes from the builders should be in soon. As soon as we decided to go ahead with this project, we visited David and his team at one of their Saturday surgeries. We immediately felt that the practice would offer everything we needed and were made to feel very welcome, and all our questions answered. However trivial.David has spent many hours working with us, going over plans, adjusting and reworking things until we were all happy. David recommended builders that he works with, and has coordinated everything with the planning office, structural Engineer and bat survey agency.We know that we can rely on David to help and support us through the next stages, right up until the end of the project.David is professional, friendly, kind and considerate. He is able to work with any changes given to him and invests so much time and energy into everything he does in order to deliver the best end result.We couldn’t be happier with David and his attention to detail, courteousness and positivity. Being complete novices with getting any building work done, David has been a great help.He's always very professional and friendly, and from his first visit, we were amazed at how much time and effort he's put in in producing our plans.By regularly visiting us and providing valuable ideas, we were able to work together to adjust our plans until we reached our ideal layout.Now very confident in moving our extension forwards thanks to the support we've had.

We have used Holtham+Newman to create drawings for planning permission. David took the time to review ideas with us and we had plenty of valuable meetings that allowed for open discussions about changes and new ideas before submitting.
