Tupholme Abbey
Stumbled upon this site not a lot to see but an interesting mix of architecture. Good idea to park in the little pull in just off the road if the weather is very wet as I can imagine the ground outside the abbey gate could get very sticky and muddy, also check your shoes when you get back to the car as the sheep are not very particular.

Fascinating history of this site, it would be nice if the information boards were renewed as they are rather faded.Parking in the layby, then a short walk up a green lane.Free entry. We enjoyed finding old bits and pieces that the moles and rabbits had unearthed.

My husband and I enjoyed our visit. It was lovely to photograph and my husband took his drone and got some great Ariel footage on video of it. Nice surrounding area with opportunities for walking. Southrey is near by which has a quaint church you can go in too. Great cycling area with the Sustrans Water Rail cycle bath available.

Tupholme Abbey
Footage coming to my YouTube (search my name) full documentary on this remarkable 11 century monument in the heart of Lincolnshire, although little still stands great to see and walk around, there’s also road side parking, easy accessible.

Wonderful location for Astrophotography in the heart of the Lincolnshire countryside. Skies are dark enough to photograph the wonders of the night sky. Easy access and easy parking by the gate. Very very short walk was the camera gear, perfect little spot.

Tupholme Abbey was a Premonstratensian abbey, the abbey was largely destroyed by 1538, after being seized during Henry VIII's Dissolution of the Monasteries. The remaining ruins located in a field may be visited, free of charge, any day, from dawn until dusk.I visited in winter, when it was reality easy to walk around.

Lovely little stop. Be careful as you have park in a layby of the entrance. The sheep are very welcome, but be careful as the ground is very uneven. Stretch you legs on a long journey and take in the views and learn a bit about the abbeys history.

There's not much to see really, there is a good few display boards telling of the history of the site and one explains what you are looking at. It's also worth doing in boots as it's in a sheep field and it's a bit muddy around the ruins. If you do go, call in to St Lawrence church in Bardney as there is a display of some of the stone work there as well as leaflets on walks and the other abbey's in the area

The remnants of the Abbey are in essence one wall, which is now supported (in part) by modern brickwork on the other side. It is in a field full of bettles and sheep, about couple of mins walk from the road . There are info though some have nothing on them and those that do need a clean/update. Really disappointing its so unloved and uncared for.
