Think there was a temporary chef in. Food was not great. Pate had been on the hot plate I think and literally came out runny and resembling dog poo. Pizza that was ordered was clearly a cheap store bought pizza and wasn't as described on the menu as a spicy pepperoni pizza, just bog standard aldi pizza for the price of a homemade stone baked pizza you would expect. Service was OK but was overly chatty and I couldn't really enjoy a 5 minute conversation with my partner without being bombarded with the hostess stories. It looks brilliant om appearance and maybe a better place to be in the summer. But very limited menu and not great service I would not go again. Waste of money

Great service from the staff, especially Arthur he serviced our table and shon when he said he would check if there was any other flavour crane Brûlée they could do.The food!Fantastic.Greta patè, good prawns and scallops cooked just right.Lamb rack wow, beautiful. Veg was cooked good and the shepherds pie was great too.The beef bourguignon was also so full of flavour and the meat was amazing. We will be back.

There was an electrical issue with extraction which wasn't working and a delivery had also not turned up, these issue meant a limited menu. The staff could not have coped better. The issues were explained to us when booking in. Waitress was so apologetic and helpful. Professional staff and chef who coped well in a bit of a crisis. We our enjoyed our meal, service and were offered a free drink as we had to wait so long. We'll done team Fire Crest

Our party of four had two courses and we had mixed views - the helpings of the main course were too large and the fish cakes came with more potatoes than vegetables, but other courses were enjoyed especially the pie of the day , and the prawn cocktail. The calamari starter was more batter than calamari!

My 1st visit here wasn't the best,as the service was so slow. It took about 3 hours from the time our 1st order was placed, which took an hour to be delivered to our table,to the time that we paid our bill. The food was lovely but I had to ask again for a drink that had been ordered and I hadn't received and my friend had to ask for her dessert to be made again,as it hadn't been made properly. Our requests were carried out quickly. It was busy and the pub/restaurant appeared to be short staffed but 3 hours was too long. Plus our booking, which was made the previous day and confirmed that morning, couldn't be found, but luckily there were tables free. The same thing re the booking also happened to the customers infront of us. The pub/restaurant is a lovely place though and cosy with at least 2 fires,so I would probably eat there again.

We've been here twice, both times after looking at wedding venues, and both times just made the day complete. The food is amazing and portions are generous but the service is second to none. They were so considerate eithout being intrusive and really made what could have been just a quick stop in the road into an occasion. Fantastic pub, would recommend every time

We arrived early, but eventually received our meals over an hour after our booking time. Most of the menu was off; it had been a busy week, apparently so there was no fish and chips, no pie, no mac'n'cheese, among others. The wait staff said she'd have a look to see what WAS available". Ales largely not in stock and the one we had - Tribute - was truly horrible

Well where do I even start, from arrival till the end of our time here we have had the best service in a long time! Greeted by friendly staff, after 1 minute of walking in we were sat at our table in the lovely and peaceful garden! Drinks were served quickly, bit of banter with the staff, which in my eyes is always a welcoming and approachable experience! We ordered the Pork Belly and the House Burger, and wow, who would have thought that Pork Belly, Mash and Apple sorbet would go together so well! Like mini fireworks going off in your mouth! The burger was out of this world, soft bun, flavourful patty and the softest beef brisket ever! And the sauce? Oh my god it was incredible! We will definitely be coming back here more often! Our compliments to the FOH staff and the kitchen team! You're all doing such a great job, keep it up! :D

On our visit today, despite being understaffed and having major system issues, the team really did try their utter best to go above and beyond. We Visit frequently and this will not put us off eating here again! We really did feel for the hard working team today.
