Booked a meal for my birthday after being intrigued after Josh's appearance on GBM.The food was amazing, we ate and enjoyed things I'd never dream of ordering myself, the wine pairing was also on point. The whole experience was enjoyable and memorable in a friendly and calm environment.

Le Cochon Aveugle
This is a hidden gem of a restaurant. The meal is like a jazz piece, great improv and preparation that is the result of great underlying skill. A small place, like an intimate dinner party with a feast of courses on a set menu. You don't get any choice or notice of what the meal is. Not a place for control freaks but if you want to be surprised, challenged and have your taste buds excited. This is the place in York.

The menu was outstanding. I had a birthday gift of Le Gavroche, which was incredible. This place is better. The food and wine pairings were unusual and perfect. Particularly the iced cider orange wine and savignan ones which I haven't ever tasted. The service was perfect. Everyone should try the smoke eel. Also I normally won't eat an oyster but this was incredible. You have 2 weeks people before it closes, you have been warned.

Very nice food and excellent staff. The price for tasking menu is very good to compare with other restaurants. I paid more in other restaurants and the food was much worse. The tasting menu has eight courses but you get some additional snacks so it’s probably 10-11 courses in total, plus you can get a cheese board, although I was expecting some nice restaurant made crackers not a bread to be served with the cheese board.The wine selection could be slightly bigger. I missed some Malbec in the menu but still they have quite good selection of wines starting from around £19 per bottle and they have a few quite expensive choices as well, so you should find something for yourself. They have quite nice cocktails as well e.g. banana old fashion.

Incredible. Creative food, exceptional wine pairings and one of the most welcoming atmospheres of any fine dining establishment I have visited in the country. Would highly recommend booking in here.

A superb sensory discovery experience! Unusual and imaginative flavour combinations combined with a rare sophisticated honesty about the food. Prepared with precision, perfection and passion that is evident in the beautiful and delicate detail of every dish. The wines are an educational experience and discovery that greatly enhanced and complimented the food.
