Golden Gate Cake Shop

The ultimate goat of all the bakeries in Chinatown!I have been buying and ordering my birthday cakes from here for 10 years now and they have not changed their recipe one bit. It still tastes the same and their fresh cream compares to no other bakery in Chinatown.It is hands down the most delicious texture and filling in their cakes.. my favourite is the Cocktail bun, pork bun and the coconut cream bun!

Its a haven for dessert lovers. Some of the desserts are nice. The place is huge and located right at the centre of Chinatown. Easily accessible and they often have something being cooked or baked fresh. The prices are quite good with cakes starting at £2.50. I loved the idea of giving trays to customers so that they can shop everything together. I bought custard cakes and the jiggly soft Japanese cakes as well. And I also got the opportunity to try a really good peanut cake and hot taiyaki that was made fresh on spot. I liked the place.

The best bubble tea shop I've ever been to. Delicious drinks and desserts, fresh ingredients, cute packaging, friendly staff. The place is cozy and clean as well. Will definitely recommend it!

The buns weren’t as fresh as I expected them to be.The lady is kinda rude I asked if I could microwave my bun and she went no that’s for staff only!!I mean wasn’t going to cause no harm if I used it for 20 seconds.Overall an okay ish experience, they’ve got a wide variety of buns, not as fresh as you might expect them to be, but for a 2 quid worth, it is reasonable.The lady on the till was nice and helpful.

Super cute cafe and the staff were really friendly! I got the vegan banh mi, the sweet red bean cake, and an espresso. All was super tasty, my only recommendation is to get better baguette for the banh mi as it wasn’t super crispy and tasted a little bit like a Tesco baguette. x

I have never been the biggest fan of matcha, but a friend convinced me to try this matcha ice cream and I was not disappointed. The quality of the matcha used to make the matcha ice cream is great.The presentation of the matcha ice cream was interesting - the matcha is filled into a Taiyaki as the cone replacement.

Been here a few times. My partner loves the Taiyaiki and I always get a bubble waffle. Both very tasty. Reasonable price. They also have more cakes and bread inside.

Jackie Harryman, that was not Custard tarts, but EGG tarts, very popular in Hong Kong and in any Chinatown around the world! They are very delicious! I love them!

Ariel Open Kitchen (Golden Star)

Excellent food as always. Been a customer for years, though less frequently since I moved out of the area, it's always a great treat when I'm back nearby. Highly recommended, especially the OK sauce!
