Country food restaurant

Simple country pub. Walked in on Friday about 19.00. Chucking it down outside, cold and windy. Inside, fire burning, locals saying hello, smell of mulled wine. I rest my case.

There was 15 of us for a carvery staff was very friendly and helpful food was stunning.

Booked for a break in a road trip, staff was wonderful and welcoming. Had amazing energy, food was beautiful especially the onion rings, with a home away from home feel, the room was nice and simple with everything we needed for a one night stop off.Cheers!

We visited the Farmers Boy as a party of three adults and a 2 year old toddler for a family meal. I can't recommend the Farmers Boy enough, the service was 10 out 10, very friendly and helpful staff. The food was amazing, my daughter and myself had the steak and ale pie, one with chips the other with mash, which was amazing! My son had the pan seared duck with seasonal vegetables, he said it was the best duck he had tasted for a long time. The children's meal of chicken goujons and chips was fantastic as well. So i will definitely be returning soon and would highly recommend the farmers boy as a lovely place to visit and have a family meal.

The perfect place to stop for tea and cake on our drive home from the Peak District. We found this lovely café by chance and we're so pleased we did! A super friendly welcome from the ladies who work there, plenty of comfortable seating and delicious food. Love the tea served in a proper china teapot and pretty cups and saucers, and my son gave the milkshake a big thumbs up! We will return.

We made a trip to this farmers market not for the restaurant but more for the specialized sellers.It was smaller than expected but a good size nonetheless. There are cheese, butcher, wine, pastry and fresh food sellers. They also have 2 cafes should you need a coffee fix.

What a great first night in London. We were craving a tasty modern version of British food and we got it here. The a service was fast, the atmosphere was vibrant, and the food we ordered was 10/10. In particular the waiter’s recommendation to get the venison, not something I would have gravitated toward, was spot on. Cooked perfectly and tasty. The starters were particularly well cratfed and the wine list was robust. Will definitely come back.

Easter Sunday lunch with friends. Booked here as we were staying at the Hide nearby for a weekend. Food was outstanding and very well priced. Service was good. Will be recommending to anyone staying in the area.

We visited The Marquis of Granby for the second time and it was just as brilliant as the first. The menu is full of seasonal dishes. Many of the base ingredients are the same but are done in completely different ways for each dish.I had the heritage carrots to start and the only negative was that I couldn't get enough of the sauce onto my fork as it was very runny, which was disappointing as it was so delicious! For main course I had the chicken risotto. The flavours were rich and I enjoyed the use of pearl barley instead of rice. Very generous amount of chorizo too.It's situated in the countryside with beautiful views over the hills. Inside has a a very cosy atmosphere with country decor and roaring fires.It's one of the more expensive restaurants in the area but worth every penny as the quality of the food and the service is excellent.

Surprisingly good! We had the 2 courses for lunch, everything was very decent: service, food and atmosphere. I am very satisfied and would recommend to my friends to try. Unlike some fine restaurants which always charge extra for some pre-fixed courses, so you ended up paying more than advertised, this one is true to its value. No strings attached, totally worth it.
