Chloe May's Dance Academy is a traditional dance school with a modern twist! We have a combined number of 300 dancers (toddlers, kids, teens & adults) between Kidderminster and Bromsgrove and have been running for almost 6 years.We are an encouraging, supportive and welcoming dance school that strives to help children become the best dancers they can be. We are not elitist in our approach and want every child to have access to a fulfilling dance education - whether they just want to dance for fun or decide to dance for progression and achievement with dreams of a career in the performance arts industry.Our main aims through the Academy are to promote children's love for dance, allow them to enjoy positive physical exercise, improve their mental health, develop their confidence, self-esteem and performance skills, as well as to thrive as dancers and individuals.In Kidderminster we teach Ballet, Tap & Modern, Acro Dance, Pom Dance, Street Dance and Lyrical/Contemporary classes. We have classes available from walking right up to adults. There is something to suit all tastes, ages and abilities at Chloe May's Dance Academy. We have our own brand new dance studio in Kidderminster town centre which is an inspiring haven for dancers with ballet barres, dance flooring and mirrors. You can find us on Worcester Street opposite Peacocks. We teach the award-winning Melody Movement syllabi (Ballet) to children from walking toddlers to age 6 and our home-grown, tried and tested Acro Antics syllabi (Acro Dance) to ages 3-6. This magical introduction to dance takes children on story-driven and thematic journeys to earn stickers and achieve medals to reward in-class progress. Children then move onto professional and industry accredited dance exam boards (IDTA and Acrobatic Arts) where they can develop their dance technique through taking official dance examinations.We offer many other opportunities for children to develop as individuals and dancers such as community events, whole school shows, awards presentations and more. Chloe May alone has almost 40 years of dance industry training and professional experience. A dancer since the age of 4, Chloe secured a place at renowned dance college, Performers College and went on to a successful career as a professional dancer (in multiple dance styles and mediums) that took her all over the world. From dancing on TV with S Club 7 and Rachel Stevens as a solo artist, to starring in pantomime with Cannon & Ball, the Irish dancing tour of Spirit of the Dance and casino shows in Atlantic City. She then gained a 1st Class degree in Dance and went on to become a fully-qualified secondary school teacher for 9 years, teaching dance and musical theatre to teenagers. Following this, she decided to combine both careers into setting up Chloe May's Dance Academy. We also have a strong team of accomplished and hard-working staff that also have years of professional dance industry and teaching experience.
