Flamenco school

I have been practising flamenco at Battersea Spanish for almost 6 years and am a big fan of their work.Flamenco classes are amazing, Carmen the teacher is an incredible dancer and choreographer. I haven't tried other flamenco schools in London but I am certain this is the best one having done 20+ years of professional classes in 3 different countries.And the venue and community in itself is very special. A hidden gem in Battersea, will make anyone feel like they have travelled somewhere warm and fun.Definitely recommend the classes, the tapas and all of the wonderful events.

After wanting to try out a different style of dance, I started to attend Flamenco classes at Ilusion Flamenca and I couldn't be happier!Angela is a fantastic teacher who makes sure that everyone has fun while also learning the steps. She is also patient, provides great guidance and you can tell is very passionate about what she does.Her classes are also a great way to meet new people so if you're new to London or wanting to meet lovely people, classes at Illusion Flamenca are perfect for you.100% highly recommend - thanks Angela!

I started my first course at Battersea Spanish in January and I've been loving it! My teacher, Alicia, is lovely, so friendly and helpful and I feel that my conversation skills (and confidence in speaking) have improved massively since starting the course. The Tapas Bar downstairs is also really wonderful, I have greatly enjoyed having a drink and tapas with my classmates prior to class and it definitely adds to the experience. Would definitely choose to do further courses with Battersea Spanish (currently doing Beginner 3).

I can't speak more highly of Battersea Spanish. I discovered it when I saw their Latin Fitness classes advertised summer 2021 and was eager to get fit and tone up. I'm now doing one of their beginners' Spanish classes. You always get a warm welcome at Battersea Spanish whether it's from the teachers and bar staff, other students. It's a really cosy venue with a very supportive environment whether you're dancing or learning Spanish. The language courses are well structured and lots of fun - plenty of opportunities to practice Spanish outside of class too - games, books you can borrow, quiz and film nights, and conversation evenings. It's a place you can easily make new friends - people actually talk to each other and strike up conversations. For me it feels like a home from home.

I was quite apprehensive at first to start a language course but the team at Battersea Spanish are so welcoming and the other students on the course are great! The building is fantastic with a restaurant and bar called The Tapas Rooms downstairs - there is outside seating and the restaurant staff are super friendly and inviting. The classes themselves are superb and the teachers very knowledgeable with great senses of humour which makes the classes entertaining as well as very informative. Superb atmosphere, superb value and so so much fun. Can't recommend highly enough - I am about to book Beginner 3 course which starts in October. Try it!

I had an incredible experience at Angela's Flamenco Dance School! Angela is not only a passionate and talented dancer but also an amazing teacher. The classes are well-structured, and she creates a supportive and friendly environment for everyone. I've learned so much and have been inspired by her dedication to preserving the art of flamenco. If you're looking to learn flamenco or enhance your skills, I highly recommend Angela's school. It's a 5-star gem in the world of dance!

Highly recommend Battersea Spanish! It's such a cool and unique place and is soo much more than a language school. It has a lovely atmosphere and learning facilities are great. It also has a fab tapas wine and food bar, so you can take a glass of wine into class with you or relax there before or after class. All my teachers so far have been exceptional and always encouraging. I've been going there for a year now and I'm trying to get my partner to join too! Don't hesitate - whatever your motivations are!

I organised a hen do flamenco dance class with Angela, and would highly recommend! Everyone had a lot of fun, the costumes, shoes, dance were all really good. Angela did a great job of challenging us to master a whole dance routine, but also kept it accessible and enjoyable for all us beginners! 5 stars.

A fab place to both learn Spanish and immerse yourself in the community. The teachers are excellent and encouraging. They also host a number of events so you can get to meet new people and have fun!!
