Modern European restaurant

We booked this place at the last minute. The staff were excellent, happy to deal with questions and informed re the food. I had thr club sandwich and my friend all had the signature steak sandwich. We all agreed they were some of the best we'd had anywhere. Fresh bread and good, well cooked ingredients. Excellent all round.

Portions are big, I had a starter and Mushroom Stroganoff as main, food was amazing as well as a great variety of cocktails and drinks.

Great spot for brunch, food was great, got the chicken and pancakes as well as the balans potatoes which were well seasoned. Mihai was a great server. Would come back!

I just love it here , delicious food , cocktails, Cappuccino whatever you are in the mood for !I pop here with friends and sometimes on my own for a coffee ,snack and some me time !Lovely staff and my little fave place ❤️

Lunch at Elysian Street was delicious! The tomato salad was outstanding, the sea bream was bursting in flavour and the rabbit with polenta was delightful. The attention to detail in each dish was noticeable. Very pleasant dining experience! Will be coming back for dinner.

Delicious food in a friendly setting with a very well priced lunch menu. Recommend the refreshing Porto Tonico to drink. Good wine options. Mackerel fish cakes were very tasty. Really liked the curried garnish with the haggis bonbons. The trout on a bed of crab pasta was a highlight. The confit duck was rich and satisfying. Keen to visit again and try more of the menu items. Need to save room for dessert next time.

We've visited this restaurant after completing our hike, it was booked due to my mother in law birthday, and it was best choice ! We left full and happy :)Very friendly staff, amazing service, delicious food and beautiful decor.Highly recommended!

What a great night of out. We came Babylon for cocktails before dinner. We tried 4 different cocktails and fried squid. Everything was amazing, staff are friendly and kind. Thank you

Such a lovely evening spent in Portland.Friend booked dinner here and I ashamedly hadn’t heard of them before.They have a simple set menu approach with 3 courses to Taster Menu. A mix of dishes to cater for most tastes.Restaurant itself has a simple decor with an open bar and kitchen area which lets you see the magic happen.Staff are friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. They are there when needed but otherwise execute their role with little fuss.Food is delicious, well prepared and beautifully presented.Great wine and drinks list cap it all off.Good value for what it offers and well deserving of the Michelin star it has been awarded. Get yourself here before they win another and the prices inevitably go up!

Delicious food, wonderful service and the owners could not go to more effort to make sure you have a memorable time here. It’s a must if you live in Essex!
