Mountaineering class

Phill is an amazing organiser for walking the mountains, he makes sure that everyone feels safe and supported and knows how to give everyone an amazing experience. I would give mountain medicine 10 stars but I can only give 5 but I highly recommend mountain medicine if you’re interested in walking the mountains.

I attended the Climbing Wall Instructor course run by Dan @mckinlaymountaineering on 18/19 March at Awesome Wall and the Foundry in Sheffield. Course content was excellent with lots of opportunities for practice and tailored to each participant’s needs and background. Lots of fun too. Attendance at the course was followed by loads of additional information and hints and tips on how to take the learning from the course forward. Can’t recommend this highly enough!

Paul is an excellent and experienced instructor and is very personable and friendly. He has top rated knowledge in sport ,trad and bouldering and is a highly experienced climber. Climbing with Paul is both enjoyable and educational. A top bloke

An arduous climb is rewarded by one of the finest panoramic views in the Lakes, especially looking down on Wastwater and across to the Scafells.

Amazing weekend on the Intro to Rock Climbing course. Simon the instructor, was an articulate and charismatic instructor. It wasn't just about the climbing, but understanding the principles of what you were doing and why you were doing it that way.I went with the two day course and through Simon's tutoring I managed to climb a number of VD routes on Stanage Edge.Recommend provider for anyone wanting to climb at any level.

I had a great day out with Dave going through some of the mountaineering skills for the MCI scheme. He tailored the day to our needs and delivered it in a great way. I would definitely recommend Dave to others going through qualifications.

I did a problem solving climbing course with Alice over a weekend in October. Alice is a truly exceptional instructor. She is clearly very experienced and I had complete trust in her. She is very professional but also makes the training really fun. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone who wants to improve their skills in the mountains. It won’t be long before I book in for something else! Thanks again for everything. Liz

Great day out in the Pentlands with Andrew on the Beginners’ Navigation Course. Andrew is a very good teacher and I learned a lot. Would definitely recommend!

I did a three day private lead climbing course with Pete. I had taken a few years out from climbing and was aware of my skill fade.I was amazed by his knowledge and passion for climbing. He explained everything in great detail and in a way that was easy to understand and take in. Pete helped me push my boundaries while focusing on the challenge by choice ethos. He also exposed me to more technical and higher graded routes.I took home some amazing skills that I will never forget. I am very confident with the skills I have refreshed and my new skills.Overall I have the confidence to say that Pete has helped me be a safer and more efficient climber on bigger and harder routes!If you are thinking of booking on with Pete I would not hesitate your decision. Pete is super professional with his teaching and an all round great man, very easy to talk to, very friendly and is very happy to answer all the questions and request you may have.We climbed some amazing location around the North Coast area and I was blown away with the climbs, and his knowledge of the crags. Will definitely be heading back to these locations in the future to climb.I will certainly be booking additional courses with Pete when I have the time.

We had a day out with Tim exploring Skyes Cuillins which included Inaccessible Pinnicle, Sgurr Mic Choinnich and Sgurr Alasdair. Tim was the perfect guide, he made us feel confident in what feels like a very hostile environment! We came away from the day feeling like Tim had taught us so much, he would always explain what he was doing and why in such a clear way. More than all that though, Tim was really sound and we'll be booking in with him in the future.
