Opera company

Yet again, a beautiful concert from this substantial opera company. Very enjoyable.

I have really enjoyed the world of opera and the performing arts being delivered by the exceptionally talented team over at Rogue Opera. Having recently signed up to the Rogue Opera VIP Pass I now enjoy a live stream performance every Friday afternoon. Bronwen and her team are simply amazing!

Garsington was the home of Ottoline Morell, British aristocratic society hostess of the early 20th c. She had many famous lovers and friends. The house still stands but is private. There is a purpose built venue hosting the occasional musical entertainment. Worth the visit, about 30 miles outside London.

Just stop it, please!I first saw this company perform a Mikado a decade or so ago. While the younger soloists performing Nanki-Poo, Yum-Yum and Pooh-Bah had excellent voices, the Ko-Ko was the worst professional performance I've ever seen, G&S or otherwise. He fluffed his lines, wasn't funny, and had a weak voice.I saw the company perform.Pirstes a while later and again the same gentleman, Mike Woodward, had only a passing familiarity with the lines and was unfunny. I vowed never to see them again.A friend took me to see a Mikado at the weekend and my heart sang when I discovered it was Opera Anywhere. And Mike was STILL there and STILL fluffing his lines. Again the other younger soloists were good.I've seen far, far better amateur patter men than Mike but this is supposedly a professional production. Of course, I realise now Mike runs the company. No wonder, no one else would cast him, not even most amateur companies.Please, Mike, step back from performing, allow the REAL professionalsbto take your roles.

Super evening spent listening to 4 wonderful young opera singers. The venue was the perfect backdrop for their performances. We will definitely be back, well worth a visit. 5 stars all the way

What a paradise this place is! Wonderful company, a pleasure to visit (and to work for), absolutely stunning surroundings! Do go!!!

Admittedly opera is not my thing. Very often you have no idea what’s going on. The recent production of Carmen was a modern and shorter version of the “classic” and to be fair it was quite watchable. Music was great and the performers were excellent. Couple of tips for your visit. 1. It gets cold at night bring blanket and jumper 2. bring food and drinks 3. Drive or organise a lift home as limited chance of getting a taxi and there is no Uber.

Top group, great chorus and symphonic orchestra!!

It’s a beautiful medium-sized venue. Most seats have good view of the stage.
