Pig farm

Moved off this yard a few years ago but this was such a horrible yard. The arena was always flooded and the indoor was often boggy in areas and so narrow you can’t ride. Then the fields were so deep in mud it’s so bad! I once found my horse up to his knees in mud and struggled to get out. The hay was horrible and my horse was regularly choking on this yard which he is sensitive to but has stopped now I have good quality hay. Just the atmosphere was so negative and such an unhelpful place.

Here they cheat for money. I don't recommend anyone to work here. They asked me to work for 1 day. They promised to pay. And a month and a half later, Hins the manager wrote that the main office decided not to pay me for 1 day.

A lovely yard with great owners. Simone and Tom are very approachable and always have time for you. Having an indoor, outdoor and hacking from the farm is wonderful with the bonus of fabulous views when riding in the outdoor.

Excellent little farm in a picturesque place.

I was on Hough farm for over a year, I had some fun times and some truly sad times. I believe this yard has some serious potential but the leaky stables, unfit schools, no winter turnout and lack of communication from the owners really lets this farm down. This farm is situated in a lovely area with superb hacking but the ménage’s as said before are lacking, with unsafe holes in the indoor and fences falling down and the lights broken still after around 6 months it’s just not good enough really.I enjoyed about 65% of my time on Hough Farm but sometimes I felt like the owners were truly against me and I’m not sure if that was all down to a lack of communication.

Great place to ride, keep a horse and work with. It was my first day today and I already felt so comfortable. The people that are there are so kind and polite. Lovely environment to be in. I LOVE ITTT

My first luxury box arrived last week. Sirloin steak on the bone. Spectacular. Best sausages I have ever eaten. The pork belly is superb with great crackling. I will be roasting the fore rib of beef for lunch today. Can’t wait. Thanks Richard. Winter Middle White pork box next. .

I once helped on the farm when I was younger and I thoroughly enjoyed it, helping the lads look after the pigs and doing my equal share of the work. Uncle Doug was the owner and now Richard, Pat and Kate own the farm and we still keep in touch via fb. I really do miss going to the farm and I would kill to go back and work on the farm again. It has given me the experience to hopefully own my own farm one day and put my experience to good use. Thank you all for the training and work experience. Originally we moved here a year ago and was over the moon with the amount of space and how friendly everyone was. During the course of this year, we noticed how myself and a couple of other people were being treated differently. One rule for one, and another rule for someone else. The lack of communication between the owners is detrimental to their buisness. We've been shouted at and walked away from when trying to have the simplest of conversations. Its a shame because this yard has such potential. Avoid at all costs if you wanna pay extortionate prices for shavings and loaning!!
