Most staff are nice people all bar the one who thinks it's okay to cut you off when your asking important medical questions. When you ask her not too she threatens to hang up when your simply attempting to get answers. In capable of prompting my child to take medication. Nearly got attacked as a result. Was led to believe would be on permanent medication then not given it in error. Massive error as like I said risked my safety. Disappointing and very poor attitude of an individual member of staff. Permanent meds never given decided to change back to PRN which are never being taken. My child's health is at its worst and I'm losing them all over again. It's just a job to them I get it my childs my life! HEARTBROKEN THANKS FOR NOTHING

Lied about what I said on an assessment a few years ago, a fact I only found out after requesting my medical records for another reason. Constantly demand my name despite not providing theirs, put phone down on me multiple times, refuse to give me an email address to complain then claim they don't have email in that facility. Laugh at me in the back ground as talking on phone to them. Absolute joke, noone with mental health issues should go here it will make you worse.

I was in the mother and baby unit 9 years ago. I hated every second of it. I felt trapped and I had no say in my daily life for the 3 months I was there.in a place like that you soon realise that unless you just do what the staff want you to do, you will be the one who suffers . You'll have no freedom and you'll be in hospital for ages.i didn't find it helpful or therapeutic. In fact all these years later memories of it are still upsetting.

The health care assistants that work here are okay at what they do, providing the poor working conditions. Unfortunately they are let down by an unprofessional, whilst somewhat poorly trained/under qualified Human Sources and management team. Leading to a very odd atmosphere that can not be trusted.Cabinets left open with medication on display, rushed through room searches, medication being injected at the drop of a hat because there are not enough staff to handle an escalated situation. All resulting in poor treatment that gets swept under a very large carpet....

Terrible hospital. This hospital treat patients and their family really badly. Many of the nursing staff are very rude and in my view seen to not appreciate how to best deal with mentally ill patients. They for example did not seem to appreciate that they need to support a patient with the cleaning of their room when the patient is clearly too unwell to do it themselves without any support. I managed to see my relatives room by luck a few weeks into her stay at this hospital and it was in real mess and they seem to not appreciate that if a patient is very unwell they need support with cleaning and tidying up; I was happy to support and guide my relative with cleaning of her room but they would not allow that and the staff would also not support the patient themeselves unfortunately despite my relative being very unwell. Also nursing stag don’t like the families to visit a patient for more than an hour and try their best to restrict a family visiting a patient; This is unlike NHS hospitals who don’t mind relatives visiting for as much as they want (and not just one hour) as long as the visit is within visiting hours. Also they claim they have basketball court and gym but they never seem to let patient use these facilities. Certainly they never let my relative use it despite she being there for about 2 months and despite she being keen to use it. Also my relative was in the hospital for 2 months without her mental health improving at all despite her consultant claiming that most people entering their hospital improve within 4 weeks. During the time my relative was in the hospital about 90% of the patients remained the same and no one seemed to improve. My relative only got better when the nearest relative asked the consultant to please discharge our relative. 2 days after discharge my relative got admitted to a NHS run mental hospital and she got better within 2 weeks of admissions in this new facility as they seem to have more competent nursing staff and consultants and alternative medication was tried. Also Huntercombe hospital seem to not have a formal complaint process. Despite making several formal complaints to the manager of this hospital , we did not get any formal response back. My advice is if you have a relative in this hospital, please don’t leave them there, please try to move them to a NHS run facility. Also if you like to make a formal complaint about this hospital see if you can do it through NHS England or the local MP as complaining to the manager of this hospital seem to be ineffective.
