Really excellent Sunset steam trip

Place of work and all staff down to earth.

They really need to add contactless payment into ALL of their buses! It's not as common to carry cash anymore; especially change!

Quaint heritage line level crossing.

Like Micheal Portillo but without a lime coloured jacket matched with Crimson Red trousers I do enjoy a good train ride and what better way then with the nostalgia provided here by this excellent steamtrain service. The smell of coal burning and the gentle rickety-rackety lull you into evocative memories of long ago when rain travel was pleasurable. The weather was good, and standing on the boarding outside the cabin was lovely. Highly recommended

Excellent attraction open all year but I suggest you go in the summer, well laid out with plenty for the kids amusement, quite a few little engines run in the summer including small Diesel engines. Great café with hot food and reasonable prices.There's play areas dotted around and all are safe from moving traffic.I had a great time.

Stunning train on the outside and inside and wow the whole layout on the inside of the train is so comforting with USB charging and UK plug sockets. Never been in a train so comfortable before but I have to say the journey time is awful. On a normal West Midlands Railway or London North Western Railway train, my journey from London to Birmingham would be 2 hours (15 Minutes +/-). This Avanti West Coast train has less stops than those 2 trains and takes a further hour to get from A to B at a time of 3 Hours (and 2 minutes in my case). The luxury of the inside compensates the journey time but damn leaving at 21:53 and getting back at 00:55 to Birmingham is too long and definitely not worth the ticket price. I have been a regular user of trains and always thought wow when looking at Avanti but after trying it for the first time, I've had the worst experience in terms of journey time and tiredness although luckily with a railcard picked up this ticket for £24 on a return (16-25 railcard). Not happy and certainly won't be paying for this service again!
