Benthyg Cymru/Penarth are NOT ALLOWED TO ACCEPT DONATIONS.This is due to the fact they are a community interest company (CIC) and not a charity. The law states that a community interest company cannot solicit funds from the public (accept donation) unless they have a specific cause. Something like raising money to fix a community centre roof, they are not allowed to use donations to build a library of things. The main reason a CIC cannot accept donations is because they can pay their directors unlike a charity.By accepting donations they are breaking the law, and you will be assisting them in breaking the law by donating items to them.Do yourself a favour, donate your items to a charity and not to a company posing as one where the profits go back to the community, not the company.Check the charity commission and HMRC websites for more info.

Brilliant community group and service - we borrowed a wallpaper steamer which worked like a charm, all for 1 quid! Highly recommend donating your own unused items and supporting the community

Play time at the toy library is lovely, lots if interaction for babies and toddlers, nothing is too much for the staff. Fruit and biscuits for nibbles. A wonderful environment for little ones parents and carers. Our Grandaughter loves it great for pre school. Five stars for the staff.
