The hostel is clean and quiet. We enjoyed our stay. We forgot our book in the room and YHA stuff helped to send it to us. We are so happy to receive our book. The hostel is close to the country park and we have walked around in the park. The park is nice and peaceful.

The rooms were clean warm and provided everything you can rewuire. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast choice was great. As it's only 10 minutes walk from town along the riverside walk it is very pleasant, but that may be a little intimidating for lone people at night. The bar was also adequately stocked, and the staff helpful.

I hadn't stayed in a YHA before and was pleasantly surprised. The dorms are basic and good value but take getting used to at night. The breakfast was brilliant and the evening meal with a pint or two was good too. We retreated to the library which was cosy. There is a games room too. Good location with parking and good value.

Great hostel for a large group on sole hire. Large lounge, dining area and kitchen. Enough parking for 10 cars. Showers are useless though!

Had a nice and comfortable stay with family with three children in a private room. Very friendly accommodation with all the amenities of hostels.

We were just looking for somewhere to sleep for 1 night but it seems too hard apparently.Booked a room for 3 people and they put us in Room 12. The room itself was ok, clean and decent space. I also like how thick their duvets are. The ensuite toilet/shower was decent for the price. The shower head pressure was strong.I could easily give them 5 stars if it wasn't for 2 main issues.1. Noises! The room is right above the study/common room. We could hear everything from downstairs! And it went on past midnight. We simply just wanted to sleep! The floor board above us kept creaking every time some moves. So it felt like we got attacked by noises from every direction.2. One of the mattresses has dip in the middle, making sleep very difficult. We enjoyed dinner and the staff were nice.It was the cheapest room we could find but we honestly didn't ask for much. Just to be able to sleep?

I would so much have loved to give a stellar review- much more fun to regale a bad experience. But here, unfortunately, we are. Two stars.First, the good part: the accommodation looks really nice, both outside and in. The staff is very friendly. But.My impression is that current staff have no real experience in this line of work, and have had barely any training or instruction. Several issues occured, and none were solved by the staff without me begging and pleading and/or handwalking them through solutions.Issue 1: Checking in was very hard, because of an issue that could have been easily resolvedIssue 2: A late arrival was refused check-in because of the same (already resolved) issue, suggesting that no correction had been made in the system, and no information had been relayed from shift to shift.Issue 3: After it had been confirmed that my room would be available the next day, I returned late in the evening to discover that it actually was not.Issue 4: Staff knew there was an issue, had my phone number and could easily have called me, but left the issue for me to discover too late in the evening for me to make good alternative arrangements.Issue 5: The room had not been cleared out, my backpack and dirty laundry were still in the room, it was hard to convince staff to risk bothering the new occupants of the room, and at least retrieve my luggage so that I could on on my merry way (I ended up sleeping on the floor of a church hall- so all's well that ends well, and five stars for both the vicar and the Church of England ;-) )I truly believe that this was no ill will, but also that, since so many things were botched so weirdly by so many people, that the issues there are structural, and this might happen to other people as well. And no worries about me, I am resilient enough to figure something out, but imagine a teenager who in the morning hears that they will be accommodated, and when they return are told that they need to leave. Without their luggage, and without having another place to go to. It's just not responsible. Seriously, YHA, sort this out, because it is a disaster waiting to happen.

Lovely - absolutely no complaints. Went with my 13 year old and 11 year old. We regularly stay at YHA Sheringham / Whitby, stayed here as a child so was nice to bring these two. Friendly welcome, great size room (we ended up with a private 5 bed room for the 3 of us), clean facilities, good kitchen, lounge and family room. Kids would have liked WiFi or phone signal - but I was quite glad there was none! :-)

Only visited the NT coffee shop and walked through the grounds but very picturesque and the coffee shop was good with great cake but not enough gluten free choice.
